Hey Friend,
For the last few weeks, you’ve been practicing moments of unplugging and filling your Shabbat with the people and things that matter most. Now comes the point of it all: the Shabbat dinner table.
Have another Shabbat dinner with friends this Friday night and keep that tradition going. Host it or join one — even two people count. Cook or order takeout. The Talmud imagines God calling Shabbat a precious gift and saying: “Go and tell them.” Plural. This gift has always been addressed to a group.
Whatever this week held for you, its last act can be a table full of people you love, gloriously unreachable through phones and social media together.
If hosting sounds like a leap, it’s a smaller one than you think — and helping you take it is literally what OneTable does every Friday night. We’ll help you plan it, and you’ll get up to a $100 gift card to get started. Post your dinner by tomorrow night, and we’ll help with the rest.
However you get to the table: Put the phone away, eat slowly, and leave room for sweetness.
It’s one day closer to Shabbat.
The OneTable Team
